Submits Bill
2
28/2/39
Town Planning Ordinance 1939
(see 53558/38)
In paragraph 15 (1) of their Report the
Housing Commission recommended as a first step the
formation of a permanent Town Planning and Housing
Committee to assist Government in an advisory
capacity. The present Bill, however, proposes to
establish an Executive Board in place of the
Committee advised by the Commission (see the
Governor's remarks on this subject in his budget
address to Leg. Co. on page 121 of Hansard attached).
I cannot find anything objectionable in the
terms of the draft Bill. Incidently there seems
to be a slight error in the table of
correspondence:
the "source" column opposite clause 2(1) of the
present bill should refer I think to Section 3
(1)(b) and (c) of the F.M.S. Sanitary Board's
enactment.
? Subject to legal obsons. convey
approval of the draft bill.
